1. Nijrab tribal elder Haji Sar Biland:
Peace is a lifeline for a country that is in the grip of war and whose people are locked in internecine fighting.
2. Tagab resident Mualim Sharifullah:
Peace is vital to governance. Many people are forced to join the militants. Against this backdrop, provincial chapters of the High Peace Council can play an important role in wooing them to the reconciliation process. Such individuals need an address where they could go.

1. Qais Safali School teacher Abdul Karim:
Human beings need peace just as they need food. Without peace, progress and development remain elusive. In particular, teaching and learning require a harmonious environment. In peaceful areas, schools remain open, with teachers and students in attendance. On the contrary, schools have been closed in restive areas, depriving children and youth of their right to education.
2. Ferozkoh shopkeeper Abdul Azam:

1. Civil society network member Roohullah Amiri:
We support peace in Afghanistan, where reconciliation is very important. However, we do not know whom the Afghan government is seeking peace with: Taliban, Al-Qaeda or Pakistan?
2. Hawa High School teacher Ms. Farzana:
Serving as a teacher for the past two decades, I have lost four relatives to the war. I have long been hoping for peace, pleased by whatever is said in this regard. However, I don’t know when my dream will come true.

Government’s peace efforts are inadequate; we have no optimism about the reconciliation campaign. Peace would not come about; nor does it have any concrete benefit.
2-Private university student Asad Ghaus
In my opinion, peace in Afghanistan is like a white dove in a dark sky. The need for peace is clear but years after it was launched, the drive has yielded no significant result. Violence is escalating with each passing day. Instead of seeing peace, we are witness to bomb blasts.
