EQUALITY for Peace and Democracy (EPD) is a nonprofit, non-governmental organisation dedicated to empowering women and youth at the community and policy levels in Afghanistan. EPD was established in early 2010 by Ms. Nargis Nehan, the Executive Director of the organisation. EPD works to build the capacity of women and youth as the front face in presenting their needs for development, peace-building and democratic processes. It also aims at mass mobilisation of women and youth to contribute to overcoming the challenges of instability that Afghanistan is facing. EPD has established platforms for women and youth to come together, set up networks, build trust and confidence and strive jointly to transform Afghanistan into a democratic country, free of violence and discrimination in all forms.

2-The Liaison Office (TLO):
TLO is an apolitical and non-governmental Afghani organisation, which was established in 2003 after tribal elders decided to help the government in building durable peace and stability in the country. TLO has offices in 25 provinces, with its main office located in Kabul. It has 71 employees and four additional offices in the capital. TLO works for social stability, good governance, justice and peace in Afghanistan. After obtaining membership of the Civil Society Natural Resources Monitoring Network (CSNRM), TLO started functioning in the mining sector in collaboration with CSNRM.

3- Afghan Women’s Educational Centre (AWEC)

6-Organisation of Human Welfare (OHW)
OHW is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) and is an apolitical, non-profit and impartial body with no bias towards a particular region or ethnicity. As a result of the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan, many Afghans are without basic services including livelihoods. 9-Afghan Amputee Bicyclists for Rehabilitation and Recreation (AABRAR)
Afghan Amputee Bicyclists for Rehabilitation and Recreation (AABRAR) is a local non-governmental organisation working for the rehabilitation and socio-economic integration of disabled people and other vulnerable groups into the community. Since its inception in 1992, AABRAR began a bicycle-training programme for amputees to improve their mobility and increase their independence, enabling them to travel to and from work, and save on transportation costs.

13-Cooperation for Peace and Unity (CPAU)
CPAU is an Afghan-led non-profit organisation, with two decades of experience in promoting peace and social justice in the country. Founded in 1996, CPAU is the first Afghan-led, research and peace-building group in Afghanistan. Over the past decade, CPAU has implemented more than 400 projects in over 26 provinces across Afghanistan, where it has conducted research, peace and conflict management, innovative education and peace-building programmes and media projects. 22- Samoon Movement:
Afghanistan is going through an important phase of its history where migration from conflict to stability is being pursued. The country is in process of establishing and strengthening its political bases rooted in democratic principles and practices. However, as the country is yet to achieve political maturity and stability there have been voids being observed in the political processes and practices such as lack of party based politics. Also, a genuine opposition has failed to rise over the course of last one decade as people have been sitting in the government while playing dummy role of opposition. On the other hand, civil society has also failed to play the role of an independent source of oversight, advocacy and lobbying body over political institutions. The need for political mobilization, identification of gaps in political processes, filling the void created by non-existence of a genuine and pronounced political opposition warrants a collective effort initiated and carried by common Afghans, technocrats, political personalities, and civil activists. Therefore, a group of Afghans with diverse personal, professional and academic backgrounds have come together to form a think-tank/political pressure group, Samoon Movement, in order to play an active role in political sphere of Afghanistan. Samoon is a Pashto word meaning Reforms. The group is formed to play an active role in political mobilization of masses, particularly youth, take action on legislative, policy and issues related to the national interest and technically and politically contribute to political development of the country. Also, the group is geared to eliminate political monopoly from the Afghan political setting and play a role in circumventing hijacking of Afghan politics by individuals and groups formed based on common personal interest.

Afghan Women’s Network (AWN) is a non-partisan, non-profit network of women that establish in 1995 and service as umbrella organization for more than 130 NGO members, and 3500 individual members who are committed to support women in Afghanistan.
